Great Harvest Bread Company
Be loose and have fun; bake phenomenal bread; run fast to help customers; and give generously to others. That's Great Harvest Bread Company's mission and it's not just something they preach, but something they have actually put into practice.

Walking into their Woodruff Road store location, customers are immediately greeted with an irresistible offer to sample a slice from one of their freshly baked breads.

"We talked about the overall Great Harvest experience, and what we mean by that is that when a customer comes in, we really want them to feel like a neighbor or a friend, not a customer in the sense that there is this distance relationship," said Great Harvest Bread Company Owner Mike Vanzura. "We really are in customer service and just happen to be a bakery."

8 am - Noon

Main Street - between McBee and Court Streets

Rain or Shine

Come take a morning stroll on Main Street every Saturday and experience the colorful sights and enchanting smells of the Carolina First Saturday Market. The market begins its sixth season, providing the finest in-season produce, gourmet foods and fresh-cut flowers to downtown Greenville each week. Shopping fresh is not only a healthy choice, but it also helps support the local farming community!

Bring the entire family for a fun-filled educational experience or just meet a friend for a gourmet cup of coffee. This season's market will feature live music and interactive events that will appeal to a wide variety of interests. Shoppers can also learn an array of lifestyle tips from weekly chef’s demonstrations and educational pieces at 10:30 a.m. at the "It's More than Just a Market" activities area.

Ancillary market events such as Club Day and Touch-a-Truck Day will provide fun-filled activities for the entire family! Additional market events such as the Autumn Harvest and Holiday Harvest will feature a fall fare cook-out between downtown restaurants, pumpkin carving, a costume contest and a special visit from Santa Claus!

Come out to the market this season and experience the country without leaving the city!

Paper, Plastic or Reusable?

Buy A Saturday Market Tote Bag! Illustration of corn and tomatoes
Use a Carolina First Saturday Market tote and cooler to save
the environment one bag at a time.

Market totes and coolers can be purchased each week at the City of Greenville booth. Earth Fare will donate 10 cents to a local charity every time you shop with the tote bag in their local grocery store.

Keep in mind:

  • 14 billion plastic bags are used in the US alone.
  • Only 10 to 15 percent of paper bags and 1 to 3 percent of plastic bags are recycled.
  • Tree regrowth cannot keep up with the current logging rate.
  • 70 percent more global warming gasses are released making a paper bag than a plastic bag.
