Perfectly situated to be the Southeast’s premier professional lyric opera company, GLOW Lyric Theatre brings vibrant, invigorating performances to Greenville, SC, attracting thousands of opera enthusiasts from zip codes in many different states.

Founded in 2010 by Christian Elser and Jenna Tamisiea, GLOW Lyric Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Originally Greenville Light Opera Works, the company changed its name to GLOW Lyric Theatre to reflect more closely to its regional opera, operetta and musical theatre mission. As a summer music festival in August, GLOW Lyric Theatre Main Stage season consists of two different shows over a two-week span.

In 2014, Main Stage/Summer Festival productions moved from Centre Stage South Carolina to The Peace Center’s Gunter Theater, a larger 439-seat professional theater in downtown Greenville, SC.

GLOW Lyric Theatre performs its Chamber Opera Series at the 487-seat Younts Center for Performing Arts in Fountain Inn, SC. GLOW also participates in many schools and community events such as Artisphere, a three-day arts festival featuring visual, performing and culinary arts in Greenville, SC.
